This morning I joined some friends from MooreOnRunning for a run on the West Ashley Greenway Trail. I ran with new friend and running mate Amy and my friend John Meadows. It says the trail is over 10 miles, but we find that hard to believe. We guess they are planning for the future. It is more like 7 miles! I ran 6 miles of it, a 3 miler out and back. This is a really awesome running trail. The first 3 miles are paved nicely, wide enough for 2-3 abreast. After 3 miles it turns to gravel trails. I will have to check this out more on future runs.
The weather was really great. Finally the first sign of some spring weather. It was 50 degrees, 87% humidity, and a 3 mph wind.
Here are a few pictures from the trail.
There were 2 run groups this morning, one starting at 5:30 AM and going 14 miles, and another that started around 8:00 AM that did 6 miles. Obviously, I decided on the latter, and it was a really awesome run. The start of the trail is behind the Starbucks side at South Windemere Shopping Center. I never knew this trail was here, and I frequent this shopping center often! I will be back!
Here is my Garmin Data.
Here are a few pictures of the group finishing their run.
Overall, a great day of running with a lot of my running friends. It was a nice spring morning! Thanks gang, cannot wait to do it again soon!
