Since March I have played on my church softball team. I go to Northwood Baptist Church in North Charleston. Our regular season did not go so hot, as we had a lot of new players, so it took us a while to mesh. Last week we started the post season tournament. To help with time, because of all the rain we been having, they decided to break the tournament into three divisions, instead of the two divisions we had in the regular season. This was a great concept, as it made the competition much better. In the tournament, we played 3 other teams comparable to our skill level. We entered the tournament as the #2 seed.
We won every game of the tournament and remained in the winners bracket. Last night, we played Crossroad Community Church of Summerville. Because we were in the winners bracket, if we won the first game, we were the champions. If we lost, they would have had to beat us again, as we had yet to lose in a double elimination tournament. Well we only had to play one game. We won the game 20-15. Every game we played with Crossroad both this year and years past, have been close and back and forth. We love to play them, as we win some, they win some, so we know each other well.
It was a great victory and great end to a hot muggy season! Congrats to our first year coach Darren Clark!
