Last night, we finally had our first opportunity to eat at the new Be Our Guest Restaurant at Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland. The restaurant is divided into three themed dining rooms. After your meal you can have a photo opportunity with “The Beast”.
The wait was worth it. It was really awesome. After we checked in for our reservation, we had about a five minute wait on the bridge. Once the pager went off we were to see the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper then turned us over to a host, who gave my wife a lighted candelabra to carry to our table.
For the appetizer, we got the Potato Leek Soup. It was awesome. They also had bread service that added to the soup experience.
For the main course, my wife had the Grilled Strip Steak (with garlic-herb butter and pommes frites), and I had the Thyme-scented Pork Rack Chop (with au gratin macaroni). Both selections were really great choices.
For dessert, they had about five options, but were were told to try The Grey Stuff. If you have seen The Beauty and the Beast movie, it is featured in the dining room song. It was like a brownie cookie on the bottom, and mousse on the top, with beads. The dishes were right, it was delicious!
…Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious
Don’t believe me? Ask the dishes….

We really enjoyed the restaurant, and it was worth the one year wait to get a reservation!
One year wait for a reservation? Yikes! I’m glad it was really good though. Good luck with the races when they begin! I love seeing your posts from Disney.
Well we have been to Disney 5 times since it opened in November 2012, and this was the first time we have been able to get a reservation. Thanks… kinda warm down here for the races, pace may suffer a little, but we shall see.
We were lucky enough to sneak in on a cancelled reservation! Good stuff!
Awesome… yes, definitely will have to eat here again, it was great!
