    • Exactly, or like this one I heard at the Disney Marathon 2 years ago. I am going to do the Boston Marathon instead of the Disney Marathon because it is longer.

    • Yeah I ran the 5k on Disney’s private island Castaway Cay on our last Disney Cruise. When I was done, I met my wife on the beach. There was an older couple “bless them” sitting beside her, and she told them I was running the race. When I arrived, they were telling their friends I just ran the marathon. My wife just said “let it go, don’t bother correcting them!”

      • The only time I think it’s okay is if the race has a full marathon, has “marathon” in the name and you’re using the name of the race/event. For example, the Darlington Marathon, which had a 5K and 10K option, did not have a different name for those events (The 5K with the Charleston Marathon is actually called the “Shrimp and Grits 5K”). So… someone could say they were doing the Darlington Marathon 5K because that was the name of the race.

But yours was actually called Castaway Cay 5K! No marathon involved :).
