Monday (3/17): I ran 4.25 miles on the treadmill at the gym. I continued my hill training to prepare for the Nashville Half Marathon in April. Here was my plan for this run, with everything at 6.0 mph:
2 minutes – 1% incline
15 minutes – 5% incline
10 minutes – 1% incline
5 minutes – 6.5% incline
1 minutes – -3% decline
1 minutes – -2% decline
1 minutes – -1% decline
5 minutes – 7% incline
30 seconds – -3% decline
30 seconds – -2% decline
30 seconds – -1% decline
2 minutes – 0% incline (7mph)
Tuesday (3/18): Strength training workout at gym
Wednesday (3/19): Ran 4 miles with my work running group at 5:30 AM
Thursday (3/20): No workout
Friday (3/21): No workout
Saturday (3/22): I did something Saturday that I had never done before. I did bridge repeats on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. I started in Mt. Pleasant and ran over the bridge to the City of Charleston side, then back for 5 miles. Then I did it again for a total of 10 miles. On the second round, I met up with Amy (The Tiny Teror) and we ran it together. I had some impressive times. I hope they translate into a good performance at the Nashville (TN) Half Marathon next month.
Round 1: 5 Miles at an 8:36 pace
Round 2: 5 Miles at an 8:30 pace
So Amy pushed me into doing even better on the second round! Thanks so much Amy!
