The inaugural WordCamp Charleston takes place next Saturday, May 17, 2014 on the campus of the College of Charleston. WordCamp, what is that you ask…. Well… you are looking at it. It is the back engine for the website for Doombuggy Runner, called WordPress. This conference addresses concepts for both WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
There will be great speakers in three categories: Users, Content/Business, & Developers.
Admission is only $15. From speaker & coworker, Michael Carnell, this meager $15 will get you a day full of WordPress speakers, a goodie bag with all kinds of swag, a chance to network with people who are really doing it in the field, and much more. He will be doing a talk about how to secure your WordPress installation against hackers and unexpected catastrophes (3:30). Here is Michael’s bio.
This is a great place to network with other bloggers, especially those using WordPress. Register today and come join us. I will be doing a lot of A/V support at the conference, so I will be everywhere. If you see someone working a camera or microphone, it’ll probably be me, so come up and say hey!
See you Saturday!
I’m heading to a technical communication conference in Phoenix that starts that Sunday, otherwise I would be there. I hope it goes well, I miss the meetups (but I know they are on hiatus until after the WordCamp).
We’ll miss yah Amy…
Should be a great one! Too bad Amy isn’t going to be there, but hopefully lots of other folks will be.
Can’t wait! Hope it’s a good turnout!
