I am now at about 7 weeks out from my next half marathon, the Disneyland Half Marathon in California, for my seventh state in my 50 by 50 Challenge. Training continues to go well. I am breaking in a new pair of running shoes, and love them so far, Brooks Adrenalines. I am a little bias since this is my 5th pair now! Well here is a breakdown of my training for this week.
Monday (7/14): I ran 5 miles on the treadmill. I did speed work with 7×800 repeats. I started with a1/2 mile run at 6mph, the 800m were at 7.5mph (8:07 pace), with a 3 minute walk in btween at 3.5mph. The final 4 minutes was ran at 8mph.
Tuesday (7/15): No workout
Wednesday (7/16): Ran 4.2 miles with my MUSC running group in the morning
Thursday (7/17): No workout
Friday (7/18): No workout
Saturday (7/19): We ran in Mt. Pleasant today for 10 miles. The group consisted of Dan, Ben, Becky, & a friend of Becky’s, Aimee. We started at Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park. We ran the pier, then headed down Mathis Ferry and ran through both Hobcaw & Ion Subdivisions.
