On Saturday (8/30) we spent most of the day at the Disneyland park, with a brief jaunt over to Disney’s California Adventure to ride Radiator Springs Racers at Cars Land at rope drop. We started the day at Disneyland because we had Extra Magic Hours, so we were able go in the park at 8am. We were about to ride a bunch in about 45 minutes, and had time to make it over to DCA at 9am to ride Radiator Springs Racers. That is one awesome ride. People compare this to Test Track at Epcot. I don”t think that is even a contest, Radiator Springs Racers is far superior!
As for restaurants, we ate lunch at Redd Rockett’s Pizza Port and for dinner it was Plaza Inn (fried chicken!)

Today I completed my 7th state toward my 50 By 50 Challenge with the completion of the Disneyland Half Marathon in Anaheim, CA. In doing so, I have now created a page for California medals. Click the link to see the medals. Even though I only completed the half marathon today, the page has two medals listed. I also attained the Disney Coast to Coast Medal for finishing the half marathon at Walt Disney World in January and the Disneyland Half Marathon today. If you complete a race in both parks in a calendar year you get this medal. The better part, you don’t have to pay extra for this RunDisney race medal. I’m glad I was able to get it before that come up with this brilliant idea to charge for it too…

Today we flew across the country for the start of the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend in California. We had two excellent flights on Delta from Charleston to Atlanta, and then on to Los Angeles. There was not a single issue or delay with our flights. God was looking after us. We left home about 7:25am and arrived in Los Angeles about 11:15am PST. It was like we gained more of the day, but as I write this, it is catching up with me. Our friend Sean picked us up at LAX, and after gathering our bags, we were off to Disneyland!
After stops for a quick bite to eat and some food & beverages for the room at Target, we got to our hotel. We checked into Paradise Pier Hotel about 1pm. Our room wasn’t ready so we checked our bags with Bell Services and off to the race expo we went.
Wow what a difference from Walt Disney World. As a seasoned veteran of RunDisney events at Walt Disney World, we quickly noticed our first difference. The three Disneyland hotels are within a few blocks of each other.
Today I registered for the inaugural Summerville Sweet Tea Half Marathon. This will be my second of three half marathons in the month of November. The race is on November 15, 2014. If you are in the south come out and join us and show your support for this local race. Anyone that knows me, knows I love my sweet tea, so I must have this medal in my collection!
As this week comes to an end, I am now less than a week from going to California to run the Disneyland Half Marathon. The race is a week from tomorrow! Let the packing begin!!!

Saturday (8/23): Wow, it is never good when you wake up for a 9 mile run at 5am and the temperature is already 81 degrees and 94% humidity. On top of that, I did a fireworks show last night and didn’t get home until after 11pm. But I survived! My Disney running partner Becky and I met at the Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park and ran our usual 9 mile route. It was a great run because Becky has done races at Disneyland, and I have not. We spent the entire run prepping me for the half marathon. I can now say I am excited for the race. Wait! I have been excited for months! Let’s hope Delta doesn’t ruin my excitement!

Go over to their blog and check it out. I thought I would post the link here since many of us will be taking part in the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend soon.
Today, the Rock ‘n’ Roll race series revealed the medals for the 2014 Savannah Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon. The race is on November 08, 2014. This will be my 8th state to complete in my 50 By 50 Challenge.
Here is the article on the medals. The full, half, and relay races will be on Saturday, November 8th, and the 5k & 1 Miler will be on Sunday, November 9th.
I have to say I am a little disappointed in the medal designs. Nothing on the medal says or shows images of the Historic Savannah.
