As this week comes to an end, I am now 4 weeks from going to California to run the Disneyland Half Marathon. The race is 4 weeks from tomorrow. 3 more full training weeks to go!
Monday (7/28): I ran 5 miles on the treadmill. I did speed work with 7×800 repeats. I started with a 1/4 mile run at 6mph, the 800m were at 7.6mph (7:54 pace), with a 3 minute walk in between at 3.5mph. The final 3 minutes was ran at 8mph.
Tuesday (7/29): Walked 2.25 miles on the treadmill at the gym at lunch
Wednesday (7/30): Ran 4.5 miles with my MUSC running group in the morning
Thursday (7/31): No workout
Friday (8/1): No workout
Saturday (8/2): Today Luke, Rachel, and I ran the Palmetto Commerce Parkway. We started at the corner of Ladson Road and the Parkway and ran to Ashley Phosphate and back for a total of 11.4 miles. I had a meeting to get to at 9am, so we pushed the pace at a 9:43 average. It was a great run, and the rains held off.
