As this week comes to an end, I am now just 2 weeks from going to California to run the Disneyland Half Marathon. The race is 2 weeks from tomorrow! Let the packing begin!!!
Monday (8/11): I ran 5 miles on the treadmill. I did speed work with 7×800 repeats. I started with a 1/4 mile run at 6mph, the 800m were at 7.7mph (7:48 pace), with a 3 minute walk in between at 3.5mph. The final 2 minutes was ran at 8mph (7:30 pace).
Tuesday (8/12): Went to the gym and stretched for 20 minutes then jumped on the elliptical for another 25 minutes.
Wednesday (8/13): Ran 4.5 miles with my MUSC running group in the morning
Thursday (8/14): No workout
Friday (8/15): No workout
Saturday (8/16): Today we ran 12 miles. The group (Rachel, Ben, Luke, Amy, & myself) met at the Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park. We then ran down Coleman Blvd. over the Ben Sawyer Bridge to Dunlevaey’s Pub on Sullivan’s Island. After refilling our water bottles, we headed back and finished up on the Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park Pier. It was really warm and humid at 77 degree and 94% humidity. We were soaked when we got back.
