Monday (10/13): Ran 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym at lunch. This is less than my normal 5 I usually do on Mondays. I goofed and forgot my socks, and tried running bare feet in my running shoes. Nope, that doesn’t work, started feeling a blister form about 2.5 miles in. So decided I would do 3 more miles on Tuesday
Tuesday (10/14): Ran 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym at lunch.
Wednesday (10/15): We had a flood Wednesday morning, so we cancelled our weekly morning run. Instead, I ran 4 miles on the treadmill at the gym. When I walked in to get on the treadmill, there was my running partner, Rachael. So in essence it was a “group” run!
Thursday (10/16): No workout
Friday (10/17): 1.8 mile lunch walk with Michael
Saturday (10/18): Today we ran part of the route for the Summerville Sweet Tea Half Marathon, to which we will run on November 15th. We had planned to run a true 12 miles of the 13.1 mile route; however, we found a road block at mile 6. There was a huge crane doing bridge work at mile 6, which blocked the trail. We tried to go through a trailer park to get back on the trail but we never could, so we decided to make it an out an back instead. I sure hope this is resolved in 4 weeks when the race is upon us. It was such a nice morning to run, 54 degrees and little to no humidity, welcome Fall running.
On another note, during the race, I got a text from my running partner Becky. She is doing the Myrtle Beach Half Marathon events this weekend. She ran the 5k this morning, and she won her age group. Way to go Becky!! Way to represent!
