Today draws to a close the month of January. I had my second largest mileage month ever at 104.60 miles. Next week, I will put this extra training to the test with the Save the Light Half Marathon on Folly Beach, SC. Amongst the race shirt and medal, we get an awesome looking print of the lighthouse.
Monday (1/26): I did a 5 mile treadmill run at the gym at lunch. I ran at 7.1 mph at 1% incline. This equated to a 8:27 pace.
Tuesday (1/27): I did an hour yoga class at the gym at lunch.
Wednesday (1/28): I ran 4 miles with my MUSC running group at 5:30 a.m., we averaged an 8:44 pace.
Thursday (1/29): Thursdays are my specialty run day. This week it was a tempo run on the treadmill. I started out with a 10 minute jog at a 10:05 pace. Then I did a tempo run for 20 minutes at a 8:15 pace, then finally a cooldown jog for 10 minutes at a 11:12 pace. The treadmill was at a 1% incline.
Friday (1/30): No workout
Saturday (1/31): Today Dan, Luke, and I ran 12 miles on the Summerville Saw Mill Branch Trail. It was cold at 28 degrees at the start and warmed to 40 degrees at the end. It was a great run considering the conditions. We averaged a 9:47 pace.

This week was a rough weight loss week, as I did not lose any weight. On a positive, I didn’t gain either, so I will take that as my motivation.
