Monday (2/9): I did a 4 mile treadmill jog at the gym at lunch. I ran at 6.0 mph at 0% incline. This equated to a 10:00 pace. I was still quite sore from Saturday’s half marathon
Tuesday (2/10): No workout
Wednesday (2/11): I ran 4 miles with my MUSC running group at 5:30 a.m., we averaged an 8:19 pace.
Thursday (2/12): No workout
Friday (2/13): I did short hill intervals on the treadmill at the gym at lunch today.
10 Minute warmup (10:00)
4% incline – 2 minutes
6% incline – 2 minutes
9% incline – 2 minutes
-2% decline – 2 minutes
Repeat x 3 (all repeats done in the 8:45-9:00 pace)
10 minute cool down (11:00)
Saturday (2/14): Wow was it cold this morning. The GPS said 34 degrees but it felt more like the 20s! Dan, Luke, and I met at the MUSC Wellness Center and ran 8 miles. We ran to The Citadel and around Hampton Park, then over to The Battery, down Historic King Street, and back down Calhoun to the gym. We averaged a 9:28 pace today. The Southeastern Wildlife Expo is going on this weekend, so we were able to see some of the activities starting up, which was different.

Well I made it to 10 pounds lost! Unfortunately, it was only a .2 pound loss this week. It is starting to get difficult now, so I got to make a few more changes to get to my goal of 185 by May 1st!

Looks like you recovered well from last Saturday and had a great week of training! I definitely felt a little sore on Sunday and slowed the pace down, took Monday off running, but I was fine Tues/Weds/Thurs. We both ran a hard race and it showed. Gonna be chilly next week too so bundle up… brrr!!
