The most exciting week of the year has arrived for pyrotechnicians. It is fourth of July week. At the end of this week my friends and I have at least 4 fireworks shows. Because I will be doing a lot of shows and prep, my running for the week will be down, as I will take every opportunity for rest I can muster.
Monday (6/29): I ran 5 miles on the treadmill at the gym at lunch. I averaged a 9:03 pace.
Tuesday (6/30): No workout
Wednesday (7/1): I ran with my MUSC running group at 5:30 a.m.. We had a good turnout of 9, which was great. It was a little cooler at 73 degrees, so it made for a more enjoyable run. We got in our usual 4 miles around downtown at a 9:18 pace.
Thursday (7/2): A specialty run day in the form of hill repeats. I went over and ran them on the treadmill at the gym at lunch. It totaled out to 5 miles. Here was the breakdown.
10 Minute warmup (10:00)
5% incline – 2 minutes
7% incline – 2 minutes
9% incline – 2 minutes
-2% decline – 2 minutes
Repeat x 3 (6.7mph)
10 minute cooldown (10:30)
Friday (7/3): No workout, I was doing firework shows for the July 4th weekend, check back later next week for a recap.
Saturday (7/4): No workout, I was doing firework shows for the July 4th weekend, check back later next week for a recap.
