It’s getting closer…. Next weekend I will be running my first half marathon of 2016 in Cajun style with the New Orleans Rock ‘n Roll Half Marathon. We are looking forward to spending time with friends from New Orleans as they tour us around the town. We have never been to New Orleans so we are looking forward to it.
After my 13 miles with the group last Saturday, I caught a cold, so my running was limited this week. What a bummer too, since I got my new Garmin Forerunner 630, I was itching to break it in more! Oh well, those are the breaks.
Monday (2/15): No workout
Tuesday (2/16): No workout
Wednesday (2/17): I ran 4.5 miles with my MUSC running group at 5:30 am. We averaged a 9:03 pace.
Thursday (2/18): No workout
Friday (2/19): No workout
Saturday (2/20): This is my last long run before my half marathon next Sunday (2/28). Luke and I met out at the Summerville Sawmill Branch Trail to run 9 miles. It was a cool but comfortable morning at 41 degrees. We averaged a 9:16 pace, with a tenth mile walk break at each mile marker.
