Since I had so many pictures from our trip to New Orleans for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon, I had to break it up into two posts. Here is a link to the first post.
During our time in New Orleans, we got a three day pass for the Hop On Hop Off Double Decker Red Bus so we could check out the sites with a little tour guiding to help out. From there we were able to see a lot of sites.
One of the stops on the bus was Mardi Gras World. This is where the floats are made and stored for the various Mardi Gras parades.
They had a few of the doors open, so we were able to see a few floats inside.
There were beads everywhere.
There was a cool gold statute just beyond Jackson Square.
The Saenger Theater…
While we were on one of the stops for our bus, we looked over and someone said, “Is that Darth Vader walking down the street?” Why yes it is….
Interesting building…. looks like it could topple over…
Down St. Charles Avenue was the older Green Street Cars. They were so cool. Thanks to my buddy Michael, the train aficionado for the reminder!
From the street car we saw a tree completely engulfed with beads.
Here was a ship making it’s way down the mighty Mississippi River.
This was a piece of artwork created to remember those who lost their lives during Hurricane Katrina.

It was a great weekend with friends. Thanks to Matthew & Kira for an awesome time. Thanks for helping us see that New Orleans had to offer!
