We are now about five weeks until the RunDisney Star Wars – The Dark Side Half Marathon.
This was a decent week of running. We have been changing out our 4′ picket fence for 6′ privacy fence for our dogs, so that took a lot of energy not being dedicated to running.
As for my week, here is how it went:
Monday (3/7): I ran on the treadmill at the MUSC Wellness Center at lunch. I ran 5 miles at an 8:34 pace.
Tuesday (3/8): No workout
Wednesday (3/9): On Wednesday, I ran 4.25 miles with my MUSC running group at 5:30 am. We averaged a 9:26 pace. It was a nice 54 degrees!
Thursday (3/10): No workout
Friday (3/11): No workout
Saturday (3/12): Today Dan, Renee, & I met at Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park and planned to run 10 miles, which became 11 miles unexpectedly. More on that in a minute. We ran through the Shem Creek Boardwalk Park, and out to the Pitt Street Pier, and finished making a lap on the Patriot’s Point Pier. This is where the extra mile came. After running down the pier to the end (typically we turn onto another pier to exit), there was an unexpected closure of the pier causing us to retrace our steps back, adding on another mile to our run. We averaged a 9:45 pace.
Here were are at Pitt Street Bridge Pier. Don’t we look excited! We could not see anything from the sun, so this was a guess where we are selfie! 🙂

Here is the Yorktown CV-10 and Arthur Ravenel Bridge from the Patriot’s Point Pier (the one that ended up being closed just a little further down!).

Now the cooler side of our Saturday running group. About halfway through our run, we get this selfie from Elizabeth & Weston. They are getting married in May and had pre-marriage counseling today, so could not join us. However, they still got out an logged 5.5 miles on Folly Beach this morning. What a beautiful picture of them with the sun rising over the Folly Beach Pier.
Our final fan, was cheering us on at Shem Creek. He just hung out there for the photo.
It was a great morning run. It was warmer, but it was better than having to bundle up to run, so I will take it.
