It was back to the road this week. It is now starting to warm up in Charleston. I have 2 weeks until my next half marathon, in Hastings, Minnesota, just outside of Minneapolis. It is a small town race, but helps me check off Minnesota on my 50 By 50 Challenge. It is the Carpenter Nature Center Apple Blossom Half Marathon.
Monday (4/25): Workout and 5 Mile Run
Since I am now running with Fleet Feet Summerville on Monday evenings, I converted my lunch time training to plyo and weights. For the gym I did a runner workout from DizRuns and then joined my coworkers for a few shoulder weight training exercises. That evening I went over to Fleet Feet Summerville and ran 5 miles with them at an 8:35 pace.
Tuesday (4/26): I did a 3 mile treadmill run at the MUSC Wellness Center at lunch at a 9:09 pace.
Wednesday (4/27): I ran 4 miles with my Wednesday morning 5:30 AM MUSC Running Group. We averaged a 9:44 pace.
Thursday (4/28): No workout
Friday (4/29): No workout
Saturday (4/30): On Saturday, I met Luke, Mike, Emack, & Weston at the Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park at 8am to run 10 miles over the Arthur Ravenel Bridge to the South Carolina Aquarium and back. I need some hill training for my Minnesota race, so this was the best I can do. We ended up getting only 9.3 miles as it was getting quite warm. Our pace slowed to just below a 10 minute mile since the temps got to the mid-70s.
Since Emack & Weston are getting married this upcoming Friday, we thought the labeling on this train car was fitting. You will have to zoom in since it has a bad connotation. 🙂 Congrats you too, we will see y’all back after the honeymoon!
