Welcome to June and hot humid running in the South. For the month of June, Fleet Feet Summerville has challenged us to run or walk at least 1 mile every day, so I have accepted the challenge
Monday (5/30): No workout
Tuesday (5/31): No workout
Wednesday (6/1): It’s National Running Day! Boy did I get it done, two runs, one in the morning, one in the evening.
For the morning, I ran 4.3 miles at 5:30am with my MUSC Running Group. We had a pace of 9:29/mile.
For the evening, I went over to Fleet Feet Mt. Pleasant for a National Running Day get together. There were over 100 runners that participated in either a 1, 3, 5, or 7 mile runs. I chose to do a 3 mile run which took me from the store to halfway up the Arthur Ravenel Bridge. I maintained a 9 minute pace.
Thursday (6/2): 1 mile treadmill run at the house, 8:15 pace.
Friday (6/3): 1 mile treadmill walk at the house, 15 minute pace.
Saturday (6/4): On Saturday, Luke, Weston, Stewart, and myself ran 7.8 miles in Mt. Pleasant. We averaged a 10:13 pace as it was pretty warm. We started at Mt. Pleasant Waterfront Park, ran to the Shem Creek Boardwalk, then on to the Pitt Street Bridge and back.
Sunday (6/5): On Sunday, my wife, nephew, and I traveled to Myrtle Beach for the ColorBurst 5k at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans Stadium. We walked the event and had a blast. I will post a recap later in the week.
2016 Yearly Running Goal: 1000 Miles
Weekly Mileage: 20.14 Miles
Remaining to Goal: 606.41 Miles
