Well as has been the case for the past month’s Training B-Log’s, it is hot here! I am having a hard time right now with motivation to get out and run. My next half marathon is on September 18th in New Mexico, the Santa Fe Thunder Half Marathon, so I will have to start building up the mileage again soon.
Monday (8/1): No workout
Tuesday (8/2): At lunch I ran 4.5 miles on the treadmill at the gym. Since I am doing the Santa Fe Thunder Half in New Mexico next month, and it is a mostly all downhill half, I ran at a decline of -3 to start getting my legs adjusted to this difference. I ran at a 8:34 pace.
Wednesday (8/3): I did not get to run with my morning group as I had to travel to Orangeburg for work. After all the travels I was not up for the evening run.
Thursday (8/4): No workout
Friday (8/5): No workout
Saturday (8/6): On Saturday, I met up with Luke to run 8 miles. We had to run the Summerville Saw Mill Branch Trail since I had to teach a class at church at 9am. Because of this we started at 6am. This did not help with the heat & humidity. It was still a very hot run. We got in our 8 miles at a 9:55 pace.
As you can tell from our selfie, it was hot – in fact, the cool rag was no match…
