Monday (8/8): At lunch I went to the gym and swam 800m in 30 minutes. This just confirmed that I am NOT and Olympic Swimmer! 🙂 In the evening I went to Summerville and ran 3 miles with the Fleet Feet Summerville Monday Runday Crew. I managed an 8:55 pace in 90+ degree temperatures.
Tuesday (8/9): At lunch I ran 4 miles on the treadmill at the gym. Since I am doing the Santa Fe Thunder Half in New Mexico next month, and it is a mostly all downhill half, I ran at a decline of -3 to start getting my legs adjusted to this difference. I ran at a 8:30 pace.
Wednesday (8/10): I met my MUSC running group at the Wellness Center at 5:30a and ran 4.2 miles around downtown at a 9:36 pace. It poured down rain for the first mile then dried up for the remainder.
Thursday (8/11): No workout
Friday (8/12): No workout
Saturday (8/13): On Saturday I met up with Luke & Nick at the MUSC Wellness Center at 6:30a with a plan to run 11 miles. As I said, the plan was for 11 miles, but we only made 9 miles. I know I have run in the summer for the last 6 years, but for some reason, this summer has just been brutal and draining. As for our run, we got in some work on the Arthur Ravenel Bridge to help with my half marathon next month. We did manage to keep our pace under 11 minute miles, at a 10:52/mile. At 6:30a it was already 82 with a heat index of 89 so it was a bear, but we got through it.

The other offer is pretty spectacular, it is a sweepstakes by Fit2Run (there is a store at Disney Springs) for an entry into the 2017 Walt Disney World Marathon. Click on the image below to sign up.
