RACE WEEK… On Thursday of this week I flew to New Mexico for the Santa Fe Thunder Half Marathon in Santa Fe. This will be my 15th state in my 50 By 50 Challenge.
Monday (9/12): It was a downpour outside, so I did not get to run with my evening group at Fleet Feet Summerville. So, I decided to get in an easy 3 miles on the treadmill at the house.
Tuesday (9/13): No workout
Wednesday (9/14): Well, it continues to rain here. I went to meet my MUSC running group at the Wellness Center at 5:30 AM; however, it was raining so hard, I did not want to get sick or injured before the race this weekend, so I ran 4 miles on the treadmill inside.
Thursday (9/15): No workout – Flew to New Mexico
Friday (9/16): No workout
Saturday (9/17): No workout
Sunday (9/18): I ran in the Santa Fe Thunder Half Marathon in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This was my 15th state. Boy was this a tough race. It started at 7,000 feet, increased to 7,332 feet in the first 2 miles, then down to 6,005 feet in the last 11 miles. That is almost 1.5x the altitude of Denver, CO. So this may be my highest altitude race. Let me tell you, it effects your running!
I will put together my race recap and posts of my trip to New Mexico in the coming days.
2016 Yearly Running Goal: 1000 Miles
Weekly Mileage: 20.19 Miles
2017 Total Miles: 609.00 Miles
