Last long run training week. In the following two weekends I will be doing half marathons. Next Saturday, October 29th I am running the Race 13.1 Charleston here at home on Middleton Plantation. This worked out well, as this will be my 30th Half Marathon! This will be followed up by State #17 in West Virginia at the Marshall University Half Marathon on November 6th.
Here was this past week’s training.
Monday (10/17): At lunch I returned to the gym to get in a weights workout. It has been a while, but it was good to be back. On Monday evening, I went over and ran 3 miles with Fleet Feet Summerville. I maintained a 9:18 pace.
Tuesday (10/18): No workout
Wednesday (10/19): I ran with my MUSC Wednesday morning crew at 5:30am. We ran 4 miles around downtown Charleston at a 9:33 pace.
Thursday (10/20): At lunch I went over to the gym and got in a 3 mile treadmill run at a 8:45 pace.
Friday (10/21): No workout
Saturday (10/22): Unfortunately, none of my running crew could run on Saturday, so I went out to the Summerville Saw Mill Branch Trail and got in 9 miles. It was a super cool morning in the low 50s and my pace of 8:45 reflected that. This is probably the fastest long training run I have done in a long time. It felt really good!
I wore my Chicago Cubs hat on the run to hopefully bring them some luck tonight in Game 6 of the NLCS. They win, they in the World Series for the first time since 1945.
If you look behind me, you can see our trail in Summerville was still showing signed from Hurricane Matthew. This huge tree has been across since the hurricane hit 2 weeks ago. Here are a few more shots of the damage.
2016 Yearly Running Goal: 1000 Miles
Weekly Mileage: 19.00 Miles
2017 Total Miles: 674.00 Miles
