This past weekend we traveled down to Walt Disney World for Star Wars Weekend. We go to Disney World often, but had never attended Star Wars Weekend before.
Star Wars Weekend lasts for five weekends from the middle of May to the middle of June. This was the third weekend that we attended. Star Wars Weekend is always in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The park opened at 8:00 am, so we got there about 7:15 am and were back about the ticket windows, so it was not that bad to get in.
Because we got in early, we were able to do the rope drop. This was quite entertaining by two Storm Troopers.
Afterward, we made a mad dash to the Star Wars merchandising, which was special stuff for SWW that you could only get there.
Following the shopping, we had time to kill before the Star Wars Motorcade Parade, so we went and got our Star Wars cupcakes.
The parade was at 11 am; however, people began lining the streets around 9am. So about 9:45 we found us a seat and just rested and waited for the parade. All of the parade pictures are in the album that is linked lower in the post.
Here is a link to the album of all the pictures from the weekend.
After the parade was over, we left the park and went park hopping. We returned about 8pm for the special Star Wars Fireworks Show that happened at 9:30pm. Here is a video from the 2014 show, but it was still quite similar.
All in all it was worth the wait. We enjoyed Star Wars Weekend, but probably will not do it again. It was just already too hot down in Florida. We made a run of no Disney from Memorial Day to Labor Day any longer. But I can now saw we have done Star Wars Weekend and check that one off the bucket list.
There are 2 more weekends if you want to go check it out.
