My friends over at RaceRaves.com now build you your own map based on your race reviews. I think it looks very sharp. If you are a runner and are not yet a member of RaceRaves, join now!
With the 2015 Boston Marathon in the books, adrenalized age-group runners are looking ahead and eager to qualify for next year’s race. Problem is, with less than five months until 2016 registration opens in early September, there’s not much sand left in the hourglass to nail down that elusive Boston Qualifier (BQ).
Many of the races traditionally targeted by BQ hopefuls are already at capacity (Mountains 2 Beach), limited by a lottery (St. George), held after Boston registration closes (California International Marathon), or in some cases all of the above (Berlin, Chicago, New York).
So we did our homework/legwork to offer up ten diverse BQ alternatives between now and early September, when 2016 registration opens.
If you happen to find yourself on any of these start lines, tell ‘em RaceRaves sent you – or if you’ve run one or more, please click on our “Review a Race” link above to post a review!
As always, races that include a shorter distance are indicated by a *.

If you are a runner, sign up for RaceRaves. I helped beta test this site, and I highly recommend it. It will eventually be your one stop shop for race reviews. Please spread the word and sign up today!
The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.
Runners love to run. And runners love to race. According to Running USA, over 19 million people in the U.S. alone finished a running event in 2013, a staggering 22.5% increase over the previous year. The half marathon distance alone welcomed nearly two million finishers, roughly the same as its 10K and marathon counterparts combined. These numbers have risen steadily since 1990, and show no signs of declining any time soon.
To borrow a term from the Brits, that’s a shedload of dopamine.
With those numbers in mind, Katie and I are thrilled to introduce RaceRaves v1.0 to the running community. In a nutshell, RaceRaves.com enables runners and endurance athletes to:
- Find, research and share thousands of running events around the world
- Rate & review…
